The Productivity Commission’s is trialing blogging as an additional and complementary way to encourage more participation in their public consultation processes. Global Access Partners (GAP) is facilitating the Productivity Commission’s new blog on their behalf. Commissioner Dr Neil Byron launched the pilot blog by asking for feedback on the 7 key findings and recommendations from the Draft Report of the Study into Market Mechanisms for Recovering Water in the Murray-Darling Basin. All the organisations which represent the major stakeholders have been notified through official channels. However we want to make sure that individuals, small businesses and families who are affected by water buybacks, or have a strong interest in rural water policy and sustainability get involved. Traditional avenues for submissions have now closed, so http://blog.pc.gov.au/ is the last chance for people to have their ideas heard by the Commission before they prepare their Final Report.
